Dubai, UAE – Dubai Basketball have strengthened their backcourt ahead of Round 3 of the EuroLeague by signing Australian point guard Taran Armstrong, according to ESPN’s Olgun Uluc.
Armstrong, 6’5”, comes off a two-way contract with the Golden State Warriors, where he split time between the NBA team and its G-League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors.
Prior to his stint in the NBA system, Armstrong had a standout season with the Cairns Taipans in the NBL, averaging 17.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game during the 2024-25 campaign while shooting 35.1% from beyond the arc. His performance in Australia earned him the opportunity to join Golden State on a two-way deal.
In 11 G-League appearances late in the 2024-25 season, Armstrong averaged 11.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game, and later participated in the 2025 NBA Summer League with the Warriors.
Dubai Basketball will be hoping Armstrong’s scoring ability, court vision, and experience in both the NBL and NBA system provide a significant boost as they aim to advance in the EuroLeague.
