Flora Devonshire Ruled Out of Women’s World Cup 2025

New Zealand all-rounder Flora Devonshire has been ruled out of the Women’s World Cup 2025 due to a hand injury. The spin-bowling all-rounder sustained a laceration to her left hand while fielding in training and is expected to be sidelined for two to three weeks.

Devonshire has been replaced by Hannah Rowe, a fast-bowling all-rounder with experience in two ODI World Cups and 60 ODIs for New Zealand.

“We’re all feeling for Flora,” said head coach Ben Sawyer. “She worked hard to earn her spot, and it’s a real shame her tournament is ending early. We’re pleased to call up a senior player in Hannah Rowe. She’s not a like-for-like replacement, but she brings experience and an all-round skillset, especially suited to sub-continent conditions.”

Rowe will join the squad in Indore on October 7 before traveling with the team to Guwahati. New Zealand’s next match is against South Africa on October 6.
