Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard Upsets Taylor Fritz at Shanghai Masters

Shanghai, China – Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard pulled off a stunning victory over fourth-ranked Taylor Fritz, winning 6-4, 7-5 to advance to the fourth round of the Shanghai Masters on Sunday.

Mpetshi Perricard, known for his powerful serve, recorded 12 aces compared to Fritz’s nine and broke his opponent once in each set to secure the win in one hour and 25 minutes. This marks his first tour-level victory against the American, setting up a last-16 clash with 10th-seeded Holger Rune.
