Slow Start to the Season for Olmo
The 2025/26 campaign has not begun smoothly for Barcelona’s attacking midfielder Dani Olmo. The Spanish international, 27, has managed just one start so far and has only one assist to his name, slipping behind youngster Fermín López in the current pecking order at Camp Nou.
According to a report from Fichajes, Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique is eager to reunite with Olmo, having previously worked with him during his tenure with the Spanish national team. Enrique is said to view the playmaker as an ideal fit for his project at the Parc des Princes and could push for a move as early as the January transfer window.
Barcelona’s Valuation and Financial Context
Despite his recent struggles and injury setbacks, Barcelona continue to rate Olmo highly, pointing to his contributions during his debut season. Club officials are understood to have set a price tag of €70 million, although PSG believe they might negotiate the figure down given Olmo’s current role as a rotational option.
For Barcelona, a potential sale would ease financial strain and open the door for fresh signings. For PSG, it could represent the acquisition of a proven international with experience at both club and international level.
Agent Holds Talks With Barcelona
Adding further intrigue, Olmo’s agent Andy Bara reportedly met informally with Barcelona sporting director Deco earlier this week. The discussions included Olmo’s situation as well as updates on other players represented by Bara, such as goalkeeper Joan Garcia and midfielder Lovro Chelfi.
It remains to be seen whether PSG will firm up their interest in the coming weeks, but with Enrique keen and Barcelona facing financial considerations, Olmo’s future could be one of the major storylines of the upcoming winter transfer market.
